Once upon a time I checked the Daily Kos everyday but didn't actually join. And that was because I spend most my time commenting and admittedly fighting on the Huffington Post. And that was even though I had no respect for Arianna Huffington and saw her as nothing more than a constant self promoter, opportunist, and power hungry fraud. But hey the conversations were lively, the troll wars were constant, and they did cover a lot of topics near and dear to my heart. So basically I just used the Daily Kos as a linkable resource sure to set the conservative/Republican/Tea Party trolls and paid PR hacks off. Nothing, and I mean nothing would set them off like quoting the Daily Kos.

But then the HP proved their true colors. First it was no more anonymous posters. Which was met with so much resistance back in August the HP backed off and said established posters would be allowed to keep their accounts and keep posting. But that turned out to be the biggest back stabbing lie we had ever heard. Because instead just a few days ago all of a sudden when we tried to comment on a thread we were informed we would have to first log on through our FaceBook account.

And let me just tell you it was one thing to be lied to by the administration but the idea that they were now pimping us posters who had posted there for years off to FaceBook was just too much. Now, I'm sure millions of other posters might have a different experience but from everything from news reports to my own family's experience I have seen nothing but trouble coming out of FaceBook and absolutely refuse to join that commercial rip-off and give them my personal information. So instead I voted with my feet (or computer as the case may be) and came here.

That has been a big plus and its only my fault I didn't do it years ago. I should have gone to the source instead of just linking the source. Not that I won't continue to do that. Linking the Daily Kos as a source on other sites. Because its fun to make conservative/Republican/Tea Party narrow minds explode. I'm just sorry I didn't join this committed and honest source before getting suckered by the HP. Lot of wasted time that.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
