We've been lucky around here in some respects... This year we have presents and a tree. Last year was pretty grim. We had been forced to move and had very little money, few presents and on Christmas Eve of last year I finally jumped a fence to steal a tree from a closed tree lot. This year is a mixed bag as well though; my Father suffered a stroke last Sunday (he'll be okay but he's mighty frail... I can see him coming back though) and my stepfather has fallen into the early stages of dementia. My Mother cancelled the family holiday dinner. With all of this going on we've been a little stressed to say the least... I'm sure glad to have a roof over our heads, good friends inviting us over for dinner tonight, and all the love we have for each other.
I've signed up for health care and it was easy.
Another bright spot is this song my friend Nick Hudson wrote and recorded for Christmas 2013... 'I Forgot About Christmas'. It sure got a laugh out of us and we're taking all the laughs we can get!
