The DC-NY media establishment is often criticized as being tools of the powerful. Today Washington Post columnist Ruth Marcus showed us why such are criticisms are dead on.
In a debate with Glenn Greenwald on CNN Marcus seemed genuinely pissed that Edward Snowden leaked gov't secrets and then fled the country to avoid Obama's odious obsession with prosecuting leakers. Marcus said that Snowden should not be granted clemency and should instead face the music. She also attacked Snowden as an "insufferable whistle-blower" whose attitude she found objectionable.
That's right, a woman who calls herself a journalist (a supposed defender of the public interest) is angrier at the whistle-blower, who exposed government lies, for his attitude (whatever that means) than she is at the government, and people like James Clapper, for lying about their unconstitutional invasions of American privacy.
Ruth Marcus' foolishness isn't unsurprising, given that she writes for the same paper that employs the world's largest single cell organism, Richard Cohen.
