Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) questions U.S. Federal Reserve Vice Chair Janet Yellen (not pictured) during a Senate Banking Committee confirmation hearing on Yellen's nomination to be the next chairman of the Federal Reserve, on Capitol Hill in Washingt
Didn't you know that Third Way has ALWAYS loved Elizabeth Warren?
Third Way, September 2012:
If you listened only to Elizabeth Warren, the message was catastrophically antibusiness,” said Matt Bennett, co-founder of Third Way, a centrist Democratic group. That “further drives a wedge between business and Democrats that may not be fair but is the way business perceives things,” he said. “And making voters into victims is not a winning strategy.
Third Way, December 2013:
If you talk to leading progressives these days, you'll be sure to hear this message: The Democratic Party should embrace the economic populism of New York Mayor-elect Bill de Blasio and Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren. Such economic populism, they argue, should be the guiding star for Democrats heading into 2016. Nothing would be more disastrous for Democrats [...]
Third Way ... now?
"We supported Senator Warren when she ran for Senate, and we would never call for someone to run against her in a primary or anything like that," Bennett said at American University Friday.
Apparently, it goes something like this:

"We are pro-business. Really pro-business. Really really pro-business. Like, everything-you-hate-about-capitalism pro-business.

"That Elizabeth Warren? She is anti-business. Catastrophically antibusiness. If she could, she'd drop a nuclear bomb on business, she hates it so much! If you listen to her, it will be DISASTROUS for the Democratic Party. So don't fucking listen to her OR WE'LL ALL GOING TO DIEEEEEE!!!

"But wait, you say she's popular? You say she's relevant and we're an itchy scab on a party that has long moved past our own selfish, parochial, greedy interests? Shit. That's true. The last time we stuck our necks out and criticized her we got brutalized, even by our own allied Democrats. That one hurt. Sigh. Alright, here goes nothing...

I'll give Third Way this: They do a fantastic Orwell.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
