January 16th, 2014 was a rare sunny day here in Syracuse, NY. I decided to take advantage by using a free admission to the Rosamond Gifford Zoo at Burnet Park to take some photos for the zoo photo contest.

It was warm enough for the Lions to be out. It won't be next week...
It was feeding time for the Ring-tailed Lemurs. The other Lemurs were napping.
The only Monkeys that were active were the Patas Monkeys. They also have the only enclosure that isn't too dark or severely back lit.
The main pond has open water, and that means water fowl. Both zoo birds and wild.

I was very excited that the Snow Leopard was awake. Every time I've visited in the last few years they have been asleep.
When I moved from the glass viewing area to the side viewing area he came down to check me out...
Too bad there wasn't any snow on the ground. The elephant herd in Syracuse may be the only one that has ever learned to throw snowballs at each other and the keepers.
I was wondering if the Bald Eagle injures himself or if his exhibit mate does it...
