Couple of links for you comrades. Glorious website did not have diaries, that I saw anyway, so I felt I should provide information to my fellow fiscally irresponsible socialists about to developments we should all be aware of. One, good, the other, utterly hilarious.
Also, I'm going to stop with the whole "Russian Guyovich" style of typing now.
In what is apparently a cynical effort to boost fundraising, (because screw show-business, there's no business like politics) RNC member Solomon Yue is proposing republicans adopt as a party platform the fight against FATCA, which is an agreement reached between the US and various havens for tax evasion like Switzerland, essentially strong arming them into realizing they can't keep providing safe havens for tax cheats.
Money quote, for me anyway, “I see FATCA just like Obamacare,” Yue told Reuters, in that “It will attract American overseas donors.”
Think Progress RNC FATCA
In an effort to raise money, I have to admit helping tax cheats is a good way to go. The recent article on Ars Technica regarding the EU trying to stamp down on tax cheats by attacking the Dutch Sandwich. If you don't know what that is, then obviously you haven't been properly advised by a tax attorney as to the best allocation of your assets.
TL:DR version, Tech companies and their ilk, are screaming like stuck pigs and fighting like wild boars to stop the move by governments to get the taxes paid on the money these companies have made "improving lives" by making better phones.
Ars Technica Article
To anyone who is going to complain about me not including enough quotes from the articles, because they had to go and read the articles...you're welcome.
To the rest, er, you're welcome.
And if somebody posted a diary of these things already, opps!
Edited to correct the type of sandwich
