Standard disclaimer: Leave your loathing of meta, World of Warcraft, or community diaries outside. If you think we should be playing your MMO instead, start a guild and write a recruitment diary. Don't leave a comment here and then get all hurtful when it isn't received with flowers and candy. This goes double for people coming in to attack guildies over other diaries or comments - STAY OUT! Link to your recruitment diary is OK though. |
Standard advertisement: Wreck List is the Daily Kos World of Warcraft guild. We are Horde-side on the Garrosh server. To join, read this diary and visit the Guild web site to put in an application. Yes, you have to be Horde. No, you don't have to be hardcore - casuals, PvPers, and people that just want to hang out on guild chat are all welcome. |
More below the fold:
So, as many of you probably know by now, the Hearthstone beta is open. Here's a page with more info and download links.
Also, I've seen some previews for the new character models coming out in Warlords of Draenor. Here's a post on the World of Warcraft page about the development process. I didn't read down to see how soon the comments turned awful, but I expect that they did.
Now, on to the weekly reports!
Here's the Saturday Night Massacre report from Mageartin:
Saturday Night Massacre
I lead SNM this past Saturday, and fun was had by all. We cleared Blackwing Descent on Heroic, and got a few of the achieves, working towards [Glory of the Cataclysm Raider]. Thanks to Carune and Rubidium who helped greatly on the needed strategies where we could not just overpower the encounters. We wiped once on Heroic: Chimaeron (due to an unnamed mage pulling before the buff was on us), and several times on Heroic: Nefarian before getting the dragon down and getting our new shiny title. I am hosting the SNM this weekend, and plan to return to Blackwing Descent on normal difficulty to finish out the raid achieves that were too difficult on Heroic. If time permits, we will continue on through this meta. Since I volunteered to host at least on SNM a month, we're going to continue to plow through the Cataclysm metas, and get mounts and titles for guildies. I'm also thinking about a "race" with 5 man groups to work on [Glory of the Cataclysm Hero].

Here's a very quick Team Kaels report from Ninotchka:
Team Kaels is still working on Immerseus heroic. We've gotten past the first two phases multiple times, but were hampered by my medical conditions and general tiredness. And on that note I'm going back to sleep.

Here's a Team RubiPam report from Pamena:
Team RubiPam is still working on Garrosh, where I expect we will be for a few weeks, since we haven't gotten to the first intermission yet. That fight is, uh, hard for us. But we will keep at it, I expect interspersed with a few farming nights - Pamena has the 4-piece tier set now, but only one of them is normal version, the other 3 are flex and LFR, so it would be nice to hunt for more normal pieces for her and, I suspect, for everyone else as well. I should say a word about our attempt at a flex last Thursday, while Rubi and others were out, as there were some lessons there. I was pretty sick ( as I have been for 10 days, but finally on the upswing now), and I had no business organizing it, which may explain why the group composition was simply not strong enough for all of wing 3. We did get the first 2 down, but Thok was our nemisis, once again. I will only say that people need to be self aware here and recognize when they are not geared enough, or simply can't do enough damage for whatever reason, for a particular raid.
Thanks Mage for taking over SNM for me this past week - it sounds so fun, I wish I had felt well enough to join in. I'll be setting up the schedule for February soon - if anyone else wants to organize a Saturday night, let me know.

And finally a Team Z report from Moodyloner:
I had the honour (along with Vanillapie) to be invited in as substitutes for a Team Z farming run last Sunday.
While no appropriate DPS plate dropped, naturally, I was able to get some practice in on the early bosses in SoO, was lucky enough to get an unthinkable two Secrets of Oh For The Love of Arthas Give Me The Damn Cloak Already, and we got tantalizingly close on Norushen, who is earning a place alongside Elegon and Garalon on the list of bosses to come back and curbstomp at the end of the next expansion.
Appreciate the run, and thanks again, Team Z!

That's all I have this week.
For the Horde!
