Mystery Ingredients in FRACK  Water Exposed

Marshall Adame, NC-03 Democratic Candidate says NO to Fracking in North Carolina and NO to dumping the recovered water here.
Gov. McCrory's , along with Halliburton, the #1 Fracking Company in the world, efforts to suppress the chemical makeup of the mixture, and the chemical makeup of the recovered water is finally exposed. Marshall Adame, is a Democratic Candidate for North Carolina's 3rd Congressional District has the ingredients of the mixture, and more importantly, the recovered water that will, if McCrory has his way, will be dumped in the 3rd District.
The information, which is taken from the same Shell Field that runs the length of West Virgina, Western Virginia and down through Western North Carolina is called the Marcellus Shell Field Gas Development Project. This project has been the front runner of all Fracking on the East Coast and has been responsible for much of the development of the process itself, and Marshall knows the makeup of this toxic mixture.
No other candidate Republican or Democrat, nor sitting Senator or Congressman/woman have been able to produce the contents of the Fracking mixture because, if exposed, Governor McCrory's plans would be spoiled if the public knew just how toxic these chemicals are. Marshall is a strong supporter of the Environment and believes that the pristine beauty, and the lives of the people of the 3rd District should be considered first not last.
Marshall Adame, does not run for Federal office for fame or power, he runs because he wants to serve. As a former Marine, Diplomatic Advisor, A Member of a Congressional Commission, and as a Contractor supporting our soldiers in the time of war, he wants to give back to the nation and to the people of the 3rd District of North Carolina....his home.
Marshall wants to work with others in Congress to build an environment for attracting new businesses in the 3rd District, similar to the New York Model being implemented, but not at the expense of the health of the people of North Carolina nor her environment. This can be done...but we have to have someone with the vision and savy to get it done....Marshall Adame can do this for the 3rd District of North Carolina and the country.
Marshall supports the Equal Pay Act, he supports Women's Right, Voter Rights and will work to repeal the removal of the language of Section 5 of the Voter Rights Act that allows States to trample the rights of the voter. Marshall supports Teachers and will work to ensure Teacher's pay in North Carolina meets or exceeds the National Standards. We need to Retain Teachers not Refrain Teachers. We need to fund a Public Education System in this country that entices individuals that have the ambition to teach, to have the tools to do so, and the pay to match; Elevate our quality of education from the cellar to the rooftop where we should be as the leader of the free world. Marshall can find the funding in Washington to do these things. He's managed Billion Dollar budgets as a Program Manager, he knows how to find the money.
Bottom're not sending Marshall Adame to Washington to spend years learning how to Govern, he can hit the ground running....You're sending him to Congress to work for you...Not Big Business, not Special Interests, and definitely not those who would suppress the division of wealth in this country.
You need to send Marshall Adame to Washington because he is qualified, skilled, passionate and he understands!

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

    This snippet, however, strains credulity:

No other candidate Republican or Democrat, nor sitting Senator or Congressman/woman have been able to produce the contents of the Fracking mixture because, if exposed, Governor McCrory's plans would be spoiled if the public knew just how toxic these chemicals are.
The chemicals involved, for example, are given on Wikipedia - just saying, it's not that difficult to find out what they are.

is a closely held trade secret. A wikipedia list of commonly contained ingredients is not the same as the actual composition of a given fracking fluid in use at any particular time and place. This information is not available to regulators or the public, who are asked to simply trust the frackers that everything is OK.

      •  But the entirety of the ingredients are known (0+ / 0-)

there are websites that give the list in much greater detail, so one can make a fairly educated "guess" about what is being used at any place or time.

And then just throw in a few additional chemicals to have all bases covered.

This is probably akin to crude oil composition, which can be described as "mysterious" because the exact chemical composition of each batch is not fully characterized.  But lists of the 600 or so chemicals that generically are involved are easily found, and an appropriated trained analytical chemist can readily assay for any particular component of interest or concern.

just go collect samples and have them analyzed yourself.

Silly me hoping for regulatory agencies to require disclosure and verify it, when fracking sites are open to the public and anyone can just walk up, get a sample, and perform a comprehensive analysis with simple household items. Of course if my home analysis differed from the claims of the frackers, supposing you could get them to make claims, I would be able to shut them down, fine them or force compliance, since they would never want any bad press.  Thanks for clarifying that, and pointing out regulator are completely superfluous.

              •  The point is that if the regulators are not (0+ / 0-)

doing their jobs, citizens could / should take it upon themselves to step in and do something.

for example, there have been a series of diaries here at DailyKos about something like "crowd sourcing" monitoring the Pacific Ocean for Fukushima radioisotopes.

Something similar could be done here to solve the "mystery" of what chemicals are used in fracking (if you really believe that no one knows what they are).

I suppose you have that handy?  The information I am referring to compiled by environmental engineers over several years of study....

So tell me how many of the rank and file of North Carolina has this information or even knows where to get it....I've got an Idea...why don't you provide us the information and I'll compare what you have to what the study has....?  Easy to throw rocks...till you break a window...

      •  Composition (0+ / 0-)

The composition is based on the type of shale, and depth of the deposits.  For instance...the PSI of the sand used is based on the the depth and pressure that is exerted on the sand.  Generally the deeper the well the higher the PSI of the sand must be.

Once the well depth and shale composition is determined the makeup of the fluid is usually a standard baseline makeup based on past fracking processes.  So for the Marcellus Shale Deposit...a standard baseline ingredients are used....most all are bad for the environment and some are extremely toxic.

The fluid makeup for the Marcellus Shale Deposit would not be the same as the fluid mixture used for the fracking going on in Texas...I can tell you  from 5 wells tested what the levels of each chemical makeup is from each well...before the frack and the chemical makeup of the water recovered.

So this is not some fantasy...we have the documentation

fracking chemicals - all of them - and say "this is what is used"

Then the onus will be on the companies involved to correct the record if they feel that they are being smeared by using only chemical A, B, C, X, and Z rather than A, B, C, X, Y and Z as "accused".
