More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

You can add a private note to this diary when hotlisting it:
Are you sure you want to remove this diary from your hotlist?
Are you sure you want to remove your recommendation? You can only recommend a diary once, so you will not be able to re-recommend it afterwards.

You must be a member of a group to use this feature.

Add a quick update to your diary without changing the diary itself:
Are you sure you want to remove this diary?
(The diary will be removed from the site and returned to your drafts for further editing.)
(The diary will be removed.)
Are you sure you want to save these changes to the published diary?

  •  DiFi looks too grim. (11+ / 0-)

She's pretty much fine with that setup, she should be happier...

  •  There is no oversight. Out of control. (nt) (4+ / 0-)

Hard to have a government when one-third of your representatives are insane and the other two-thirds have been sold to the highest bidder.

Don't worry Citizen, you only need to know the parts that are applicable to you.

Desiring to know which parts are applicable is also above your security clearance.

(like, oh, i dunno... Dianne Goldman Berman Feinstein), the media should demand: "so what does the NSA have on you??" or "why shouldn't the electorate assume that you've taken this position to protect yourself from NSA leaking dirt on you?"

  •  Impeach Clapper (6+ / 0-)

    and Alexander too.

    They lied on Congress.

They are spying on you right no via beam splitters in AT&T facilities

They are waging electronic warfare on America.

Spying on your enemies is they way things are.  Spying on the whole world is a crime against civilization.

I hope this cartoon goes viral.  Someone, somewhere in this country needs to start remembering ... "Oh..., yes.  Gee whiz!  We DO have a Constitution and a Bill of Rights and treaties that forbid our war crimes..., and everyone is supposed to abide by our Founding Documents... and spying on We The People without a proper warrant per the Fourth Amendment is not only illegal but unconstitutional, which makes FISA '08 totally illegal and unconstitutional, on top of the Patriot Act which is also illegal and unconstitutional because there are NO provisions anywhere that allow for Congress to take away our rights OR habeas corpus (MCA '06 didn't merely illegally suspend habeas corpus, but took it away!!!  How fucking rude!)..., and NOWHERE in the US Constitution is there a provision for "secret" courts, judges, or legal opinions... and nothing was ever written to indicate corporations, banksters, hucksters at Casino Wall Street, or anyone else could rule this country by giving "secret" orders to the three branches of government!!!!!"

Seriously, why/how has it come to be "accepted" that there are "secret" courts, judges, and legal opinions (or some unnamed entity) running this country instead of the three branches of government as laid down in the US Constitution...???

To paraphrase Jon Stewart last night.... "Squirrel...!!!"

I'm sick of attempts to steer this nation from principles evolved in The Age of Reason to hallucinations derived from illiterate herdsmen. ~ Crashing Vor

It cannot be expressed better than this!

    •  Not to mention "civil forfeiture" (0+ / 0-)

which is a fancy word for THEFT from innocent people, and violates the clear wording of the Fifth Amendment:

No person shall ... nor be deprived of life, liberty, OR PROPERTY, without due process of law; NOR SHALL private property be taken for public use without just compensation.

The first clause at the end of this long sentence refers to punishment for a CRIME (which is why "life" and "liberty" are included; the Constitution, and common decency, forbids punishment of an innocent person by death, imprisonment, or seizure of cash or property), and in this case, the Constitution is clear that "due process of law" means a JUSTLY SUCCESSFUL CRIMINAL prosecution, NOT suspicion, NOT arrest, NOT indictment, but criminal CONVICTION.  There is NO Constitutional justification for ANY "civil forfeiture" law, and any judge that pretends there is, is bought and paid for.  This is clearer than the Second Amendment!

The latter clause refers to Eminent Domain, by which a public agency may force a SALE of property essential to a public purpose by a reluctant owner, at a JUST PRICE determined by a court of law, in a "condemnation" proceeding.  In this case, there is no "punishment" for a crime involved, but there is no "forfeiture" either; the clause in this Amendment is to ensure there will NOT be a forfeiture.

Any Tea Party Republicans want to take up THIS violation of the Constitution?

  •  Yes but ... (0+ / 0-)

... but maybe you didn't say "please" nicely enough?

Nancy and all, I don't blame you for being afraid of them.  It's just that we're going to have to really stand up to them some time, and it's not going to get easier.

Maybe it's already too late.  The only way to find out is to rally the country to stand up to the Security State together.  But if it is too late, next year will be too late also.  So you might as well take it on now, rally all your allies for the battle and find out.

Anyway, if and when they win this battle, they aren't going to let you off the hook short of joining them. There's no free pass at the end for the nice ones.

Or did you already?  Go over to them, that is.  Unfortunately your record can be made to look that way, but I'm betting that's not the way you want to be remembered.
