Received this e-mail today from Senator Mary Landrieu (D. LA) regarding Speaker John Boehner (R. OH) and the Homeowner Flood Insurance Affordability Act
Last week, the Senate passed the bipartisan Homeowner Flood Insurance Affordability Act to make flood insurance affordable for millions of families by a vote of 67 to 32. While I am glad and very relieved we passed this important bill out of the Senate with a strong bipartisan vote, our work is not done yet.
The House of Representatives still has to bring urgent relief to Americans who played by the rules and are counting on leaders to step up to address their very real and serious concerns.
Despite having more than 180 cosponsors in the House -- Republicans and Democrats -- and the backing of diverse business groups, Speaker Boehner has yet to agree to bring this common-sense, bipartisan bill up for a vote.
Tell Speaker Boehner to let the House vote and pass this bill to fix flood insurance now.

You and I know that this is not about millionaires or fancy beachfront properties. This is about making sure our hardworking families can continue to live where they work to produce the goods necessary for economic growth.
The U.S. Senate has sent a strong bipartisan message to the House -- now it's up to one man to say YES to make flood insurance affordable for 400,000 policyholders in Louisiana and 5.5 million across the country.
Sign the petition to tell Speaker Boehner and the House: Now is the time to vote and fix flood insurance!

Together, we can prevail, and we can get this bill to the president's desk for his signature.
Sincerely,
Mary Landrieu
U.S. Senator
