A new venue! The Sidewalk Grill, recommended by Gay CA Democrat, on Vermont Avenue just north of Prospect Ave./Hollywood Blvd and convenient to the Vermont/Sunset Red Line Station. A neighborhood which has been on the verge for quite some time. A new cuisine for us too - Eastern Mediterranean. And yes, I've been there to vet it.
It says "Sidewalk" on the grayish wall next to the Tower Plaza sign.
First, the restaurant. It has a website. With options for vegetarians and vegans, too. You probably know I've been moving toward vegetarianism recently, and within that, I'm probably 60% vegan. I was happy with the menu and there's a lot for you non-vegetarians as well. Here's my falafel plate with a side of lentil soup:
I think my side dish next time will be that impossibly fluffy hummus in front of the lemon wedge.
Travel? The Sunset/Vermont station of the Red Line is about a ten minute walk south, and there's a slight grade uphill. If the grade is too much (and you have a Metro pass) my recommendation would be to take the Red Line to Hollywood/Western and then get on the 180 or the 181 bus and take that to Vermont and Prospect, where the bus stops across the street from the restaurant. Parking? It's in a strip mall. Beyond that, I have apparently no clue!
RSVP in the comments, or kosmail either me or susans. I'll maintain the list in the diary.
