(HI-Sen) The Fix: Hanabusa fundraising in "Loser" column by Karen from Maui - Chris Cilliza's The Fix has written off Colleen Hanabusa (D) in the "Loser" category after Senator Brian Schatz (D) raised twice as much as Hanabusa  during the cycle. Steven Palazzo- Feb 12 at Ocean Springs, MS by pipsorcle - Meetup and work session for Trish Causey, Wednesday Feb. 12 at the Ocean Springs Library Meeting Room from 6:30-8:30. (MtView CA-City Council) Diary of a Candidate for City Council by BayAreaKen - With campaign infrastructure now in place, San Fransisco Kossack talks about his qualifications and plans for the city. In the diarist's words: I am presently, in addition to a myriad of other things I do around town, a Commissioner for the City’s Human Relation Commission. I was advised to email every commissioner and committee member and ask for their endorsement. I did. I received 9 endorsements right out of the gate. That’s astounding because the election is so far away. I arrived home last night after a series of meetings at 9:30 to receive an email from the District Attorney of Santa Clara County (Jeff Rosen) who said “I endorse you and hope you win.” That was quite a statement and a wonderful thing to say.

More diaries beneath the Orange Squiggle of Down-Ticket Power
.

EDR has compiled, described and linked down ticket election related diaries since 2006.

EDR chronicles the passion, power and effectiveness of political engagement and shines a light on candidates and issues that might be otherwise missed. It gives quick access to races, hopefully inspires people to write about contests that interest them, and has become an archive for thousands of election related diaries over the years.

Format and Tags

Diarists can help the EDR mining team by identifying the race in the diary title, for example: (FL-14) or (GA-Gov) or (NY-Sen). Using the "Elections" tag is very helpful and keep in mind that your first sentence or two can be what you would like to see in the EDR description.

This edition of EDR was made possible by the following miners and editors: Alma, eeff,  edrie, Joieau, Land of Enchantment, randallt, sylv, suejazz and turbonerd. Special thanks to Patriot Daily News Clearinghouse.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
