Ha ha!

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) is embarrassed to be supporting Mitch McConnell for re-election, and he can barely hide it.
In a radio interview posted to YouTube on Saturday, the conservative freshman was asked by an incredulous Glenn Beck why he's endorsing the Senate Republican leader.
After an awkward pause, Paul tried to change the subject.
"Um ... I'm here in Texas today to endorse Don Huffines," he said.
Beck burst into laughter. Paul laughed with him, and then took a stab at answering the question. But he couldn't muster up a single nice thing to say about his fellow Kentuckian and leader of his party.
"Uhh, because he asked me," Paul said. "He asked me when there was nobody else in the race. And I said yes." - TPM, 2/10/14
I can't blame Paul for having a hard time coming up with an answer, especially with McConnell's lousy approval ratings:

During a private phone call not long after his re-election victory, President Barack Obama caught an earful from Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) about his unpopularity in Kentucky, a Democratic source familiar with the conversation confirmed to TPM. The president lost the state by 23 points.
But in a cruel twist, McConnell, who is up for re-election in 2014, is now even less popular than Obama in his own conservative state, according to a recent statewide poll conducted by SurveyUSA for Kentucky news outlets.
Obama's approval rating in the Bluegrass State edges out McConnell's by a margin of 34 percent to 32 percent, the survey found. - TPM, 2/10/14
And McConnell's Tea Party challenger isn't worried about Paul's support for McConnell:

Louisville Businessman Matt Bevin (R) on Monday downplayed the impact of Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul's support for his opponent, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.)
"Rand made this decision before I was in the race. That's his opinion. Rand is one vote. Rand will vote one time," Bevin told reporters at a gathering in Washington at the headquarters of Freedomworks, a tea party group backing his candidacy.
Bevin praised Paul, saying he thinks "highly" of the senator. But he added that he feels Paul's natural base of support is in his corner.
"All the people who ultimately coalesce behind him are already behind me," Bevin said. - Washington Post, 2/10/14
In fact, Bevin is making the argument that McConnell will lose to Alison Lundergan Grimes (D. KY) in the general election:

Matt Bevin, the tea party primary challenger aiming to unseat Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, charged Monday that McConnell can’t win a general election.
In remarks at a Washington, D.C. event sponsored by the tea party-affiliated group FreedomWorks PAC, Bevin painted himself as the only Republican who can beat Democratic candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes in what is already among the most high-profile races of the 2014 midterm cycle.
“We run a tremendous risk of losing this seat in Kentucky to someone who does not represent Kentucky values,” Bevin said. “We run the risk of losing this seat because of a sense of apathy and a sense of fatigue for the career politician that is my opponent in this primary, Mitch McConnell.” - Politico, 2/10/14
While McConnell, Beving and Paul sort this all out, Grimes is going to be getting some help from the Big Bog:

Bill Clinton will be dropping by the Bluegrass State to campaign for Kentucky Democrat Alison Lundergan Grimes in her attempt to unseat Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.
“We are very excited to have President Clinton coming into town to make his first campaign stop of this election cycle,” Grimes said Friday, according to the Courier-Journal.
“I was elated when he called and said he wanted to make this race his top priority,” Grimes said. - Politico, 2/7/14
