This is a simple video slide show created using PowerPoint for Microsoft Office Professional 10.
Note: No sound was added, and no special tweaking for the presentation slide transitions - you can adapt individual slide timing inside the package before saving & uploading, and you can add sound either while creating the slideshow or adding it after uploading to YouTube via the video manager. They have several you can choose from if you don't have your own - those may show ads to pay for themselves...possibly a decent trade-off.
If you don't have access to this version of PowerPoint, you might find it available for use on a school, library or print shop "public use" computer (like at Staples). Most of those systems enable you to access files via a CD, DVD or USB stick - or, for some folks who have an online storage like DropBox, you can log into that online from the store (potentially risky!), or share/access a page that has the images (or links to images) that you need for your slideshow.
If you have the ability to install your own software, you can also try to use Open Office Impress - that's OO's PowerPoint-like presentation package. (You'll want to save your original file in native format, as always, so you can edit/add to it, and then "EXPORT" to Flash instead of "save as"...but I haven't finished testing this, and have had some wonky results - so check for guidance on the web.)
This has been a public service announcement...so, keeping it in that vein, please add in comments about any tips or techniques that could help folks create a very simple slide show video that they can use for presentation of their arts & crafts, or teaching guides, or random musings...have some fun with it, but please keep it polite.
Thank you.
UPDATE Well, f*ck it. Bloody thing isn't displaying the video. At least the link words...
And the old embed code is inserted, so hopefully it's just a weird glitch... :/ Never had that problem before.
Update: Hats-off to Bill W for finding the issue. I didn't bother to look ~in~ the embed code - I only checked to ensure I had copied it whole.
I've never seen that weird issue with the http portion stripped off. Weird...
Anywho - THANKS Bill W!
