More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

at this point of utter economic failure/flailing about lamely and stupidly in our Nation-- the question IS Ms Clinton any sort of bold leader that can inspire the hideous deadbeats in congress to get off their fat asses and do something (s)?

the answer is NO she is not. in fact the doofuses in congress will work even harder against any sort of progressive agenda she MIGHT have.

so forget it.. I will support Ms Davis in TX; she is one of the few inspiring people running for office right now.

  •  Let Hillary appear to be the likely nominee (1+ / 0-)

and let her take all the glob-throwing from the rightwing presumptives as they emerge and flame out one after another, which she's doing now, and then have the Dems nominate Chris Van Hollen, or Kristen Gilibrand, or Martin O'Malley, worthy alternatives that the wingers have not strategized against.  Actually recruit a nominee rather than have the ego-driven usual suspects appear every time.  The usual candidates on both sides all seem to have become parodies of themselves.  We love George Washington because he was not only great, he was reluctant.

Merkel, Hollande to discuss European communication network avoiding U.S.
    [More at link.]
BERLIN (Reuters) - German Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Saturday she would talk to French President Francois Hollande about building up a European communication network to avoid emails and other data passing through the United States.

Merkel, who visits France on Wednesday, has been pushing for greater data protection in Europe following reports last year about mass surveillance in Germany and elsewhere by the U.S. National Security Agency. Even Merkel's cell phone was reportedly monitored by American spies.

Merkel said in her weekly podcast that she disapproved of companies such as Google and Facebook basing their operations in countries with low levels of data protection while being active in countries such as Germany with high data protection.

Bwahahahahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!  That's a lovely FU to the US "spymasters"!  May they succeed beyond their wildest dreams as long as US corporations and government are in cahoots to break every constitutional and legal law in the US.

  •  Obamacare helps small business (1+ / 0-)
    Recommended by:

As the part owner of 2 small businesses, it amazes me to keep hearing that small biz owners don't like the ACA. Joe Scarborough repeatedly states on his show "I haven't talked to one single small business owner that likes the law".

My 2 companies have different experiences. One has 15 employees and our Anthem policy costs have leveled the last 3 years, at least in part due to the new law. One employee may have been "locked" in with us, to help keep her daughter with a precondition covered and is now free to move on (not a problem for us if that's what she decides to do).

The other company employs 4 well-compensated salespeople, and doesn’t offer insurance at my (R) partner's preference. We've had some qualified candidates decline with us in the past since there's no group policy. The ACA will mean our current people can't get kicked off insurance if they get sick and it will help us for future recruiting (and if we make it to 50 employees, I'll be more than happy to provide insurance). Over-all, ACA is helping, not hindering these 2 companies.

Although this is my own anecdotal experience, I can't believe most business owners, unless they're expressing political bias, are really hindered, and are more likely helped by this law!
