Received this e-mail today from Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D. NY) in support of appointed Senator John Walsh's (D. MT) campaign:
Just a week after being appointed to fill the seat of outgoing Sen. Max Baucus, Sen. John Walsh of Montana has been hit with a six-figure attack ad financed by the Koch brothers.
We cannot afford to lose this seat. John, the first combat veteran of the Iraq War to serve in the Senate, is the newest public supporter of our bill to reform the way military sexual assault cases are prosecuted – getting us closer to the 60 votes needed for passage. And it is not just that: from supporting veterans and working families to demanding equal pay for women, John is the kind of colleague I need in the Senate.
Republicans need six seats to take back the majority, and as a recent appointee, John will be a top target. Join me in helping John counter the lies and get his message out.
Click here to donate $5 or more directly to John by 5 p.m. Wednesday to help him win in Montana and protect our majority.

John spent 33 distinguished years in the Montana National Guard before retiring and being elected lieutenant governor in Montana.
As a battalion commander, John led more than 700 brave men and women to Iraq in the largest deployment of Montana National Guard soldiers and airmen since WWII. Later, he championed the Yellow Ribbon program, which provides valuable resources to National Guard members and their families, including making sure they receive their due benefits.
We cannot let the Kochs take out someone who is a powerful voice behind our military sexual assault reforms and shares our values. Even $5 – anything you can give – will make a difference as John gets his campaign going.
