Don’t vote.
Forget about handing out pamphlets, or making house calls.
Don’t contribute.
Do not attend political rallies or attend Party conventions.
Ignore political polls.
Log off your favorite political blogs.
Go to the movies on election days and enjoy yourself, but whatever you do, DON’T VOTE!
You see; there’s no reason to get involved in the political process because Hillary is inevitable.
That’s right. The game is rigged, and your vote does not count.
If you are unhappy with the current political climate, then shut the f*&k up because decisions about your future and your family’s future have already been made. The Democratic Party doesn’t need your input.
Hillary is inevitable.
If you are angry at a do-nothing congress and an unresponsive White House, don’t bother pulling that lever because they’ve already tallied your vote…corporate lobbyists pulled the lever for you a long time ago.
If you don’t like the TPP, then remember the words of Michael Froman – Obama’s top trade official – who told progressive leaders in Congress during a recent meeting:
Froman, attempting to make a progressive case for the trade deal, argued that globalization is happening regardless of whether anybody wants it….
That’s right. Whether you want it or not, Australia, Brunei, Chile, Canada, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, and Vietnam are prepared to use U.S. courts to force you to do the right thing (actually, their thing).
If you aren’t happy with a two-tiered justice system that favors the rich, energy companies that destroy the environment with impunity, bankers and Wall Street financiers who are never held accountable for their crimes, congressmen who abscond and redirect tax dollars from educational and social safety net programs to enrich their wealthy contributors, then shut the f*&k up because no one in D.C. wants to hear your complaints.
If you have lost your job, your home, your ability to feed your children, then quit whining. No one likes a complainer.
If toxic fumes have endangered your family’s health, your water system has been polluted, your land seized by a foreign corporation under eminent domain, then don’t complain on a blog…anemic, token fines are on the way. They just won’t benefit you.
If you don’t like being spied on, ogled at airports, stopped and frisked because of your color, then shut the f*&k up. The government is keeping you safe…well, at least from everyone except the military industrial complex that controls too much of the government. You see, their actions are secret and you have no right to know what they do on your behalf.
If you are a veteran and your government dropped you like a hot potato at the end of your tour, then don’t expect any help. You knew before you joined the military what happened to millions of Vietnam veterans.
Sigh.
The truth is; the most important thing you can do in 2014 and 2016 is to vote your conscience. A great country allows all of its citizens the right to vote, and every vote should count.
Nothing is inevitable. Unless you roll over and don’t fight back.
