If you can't win via majorities in a democracy why not cheat? Silicon Valley venture capitalist Tim Draper thinks that the world would be a better place if there were 6 Californias.
Plan to split California into six states
With 38 million people, California is too big and diverse to properly represent all of its residents, according to Draper's plan.
"Vast parts of our state are poorly served by a representative government dominated by a large number of elected representatives from a small part of our state, both geographically and economically," the plan says.
geographically and economically Hmmm this all sounds familiar....
He seems to be saying "We have more land and more money, why do you get to make all the decisions just because you have the most people?"
Red / Blue California
He seems to have taken a super majority Democratic California and found a way to break it into 2 Democratic States / 3 Republican States / and 1 possibly Swing State...
If only we had a word for that kind of population organizing to alter political power away from the majority...
oh we do...
Some people might think, "Hey five more California's! That's great that will mean 10 more Democratic Senators."
We need to keep the light on the truth, this is the next evolution of Gerrymandering, and it has to be stopped here and stopped hard.
