in reality was put into place because of racist people paranoid of slaves fighting back against the "establishment". I think this should really get us to take a second look at whether it is compatible with the goals of our constitution. Racism is against our Constitution.
The Constitution is a living document that can be amended as needed. Right?
Let's look at the fact that Ronald Reagan signed a gun control law when black panthers were threatening to arm themselves.
Let's look at the fact that the NRA was silent about Trayvon Martin preventing his own death with a gun compared to other tragedies.
How about the fact that Bill O'Reilly scoffed at the suggestion made by Tavis Smiley that black men arming themselves to stand their ground. O'Reilly said that arming black people was an "extreme" idea.
Lastly, every time a black person gets shot in the news, the comments say "He deserved it" and they do not argue that the black person should have had a gun to defend him or herself.

But white people owning guns to defend themselves against the "black bad guys"? That is totally okay....
The NRA profit off of killing people and selling guns to "Good law-abiding citizens" to defend against the so-called "black boogeyman"
These "good law-abiding citizens" have good consistent core values meant to ensure the nation's domestic tranquility of all....
I call HORSESHIT to the ten thousandth power.
The 2nd amendement does not belong in the Constitution because it was never meant to apply to "those people"
Times are different and we cannot encourage racism that is the root of the 2nd Amendement.
Time to repeal it obviously.
