Paul Broun, freedom fighter vs RINOs and brown people
Georgia Republicans are doing everything in their power to hand their state's open Senate seat to the Democrats. It's an ingenious plan: take the craziest people in the state, and have them all try to out-crazy each other for the GOP nomination. Like Rep. Paul Broun, who we've already met before. His immigration stuff? Totally full of freedom.
I think if John Boehner were to press on with comprehensive immigration reform, it will be disastrous for Republicans, not only in this election, but for decades to come. And it would be disastrous for anybody who is freedom-loving and wants to reduce the size of government.
Things that are full of freedom: bullets, xenophobia and Donald Trump. Few people realize that the Statue of Liberty is actually giving the finger to immigrants.
There’s only one new law I would like to see passed. One, and only one. And that’s one to make English the official language of America.
Nothing would reduce the size of government like passing new laws mandating what language people can speak and read.
We’ve got to go back to the limited government as our founding fathers meant it.
... by blocking immigration and making everyone speak English in a very limited-government-y way.
and that means by golly we’ve got to go back to the Constitution.
The same Constitution that forbids immigration and foreign-speaking languages. Just don't ask for a citation.
When I was sworn into the Marine Corps, when I was sworn into Congress, I swore to uphold the Constitution against enemies both foreign and domestic. Both political parties today are domestic enemies to the Constitution.
Is he gonna shoot them?
I’m fighting those people. I’m a freedom fighter. I’m fighting for liberty and freedom.
Holy crap, he is going to shoot them!

And there, in a nutshell, is another reminder of the difference between our party and theirs. We marginalize our cranks and kooks. Theirs are frontrunners for the Senate nomination in the nation's eighth-largest state.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
