MSNBC's Abbie Huntsman asks Texas Gov. Rick Perry about raising minimum wage on Feb. 21
Texas Gov. Rick Perry on whether he supports raising the minimum wage:
"I think you ought to leave it up to every company to make that decision. When government starts mandating wages is when you get in trouble."
At the very least, the first part of his response means his answer about whether he supports raising the minimum wage is an emphatic no. But especially when you take into account what he said next, it sure sounds more like an argument against having any sort of minimum wage at all.
Whichever it is, Perry obviously has no idea that he's completely out of step with most Americans. If the GOP should suffer the misfortune of nominating him in 2016, that's something both he and they are going to discover the hard way.
