Yep there it is.. Good ole Carroll County and why I was surrounded by idiot legislators and voters and why I moved.
Here you go..I get more stuff from that local paper than people know. This is just so typical of some of the people who got me so active in fighting their hypocrisy and injustice. There are so many who get all starry eyed when these people speak because they are the same people who sit on church pews packing heat.

This legislation would provide for religious expression in class assignments,” said Hightower. “It would allow local school systems to provide students with the freedom to organize religious groups and activities and would allow for voluntary student-lead prayer to take place before school during announcements, athletic events and graduation ceremonies.”
The bill, HB 861, aims to “put faith back in our schools.”
“Oftentimes we are faced with making decisions that test our faith,” said Hightower, R-Carrollton, in a press release. “Our founding fathers knew the importance of faith, and they did all they could to protect our freedom to worship and pray as we each see fit. However, throughout the years, it is my opinion that their intent has been lost.”
This is about as screwy as it gets... Let us pray ..bascially pray away the gay and reserve the right to refuse service. This same area of legislators proposed the new concealed carry of weapons to school, bars and airports plus doing away with what little regulation there is.
Georgia bill HB 1023 / SB 377 would authorize any business to refuse services and goods based on religious convictions. This would open a Pandora's box of discrimination and anti-civil behavior targeting gays and lesbians, women, racial minorities and certain religious groups.
The bills are moving through the Georgia legislature quickly, so we need to act fast to stop this pro-discrimination policy from becoming Georgia law.
Although disguised behind the mask of first amendment rights, this is nothing but a plain and simple affirmation of anyone's right to discriminate for virtually any reason. U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice Scalia wrote on a similar case that the traditional compelling interest test would be “courting anarchy” and open the prospect of religious exemptions from civic obligations of almost every conceivable kind.

And this
There will be people saying, 'I won't serve Muslims,' or, 'I won't serve anyone who is gay or anyone who looks that way,'" said Winkleman. "How do they know? What are they going to do? Ask you for an ID that says you're gay or lesbian, or a Muslim or Jewish?"
House Bill 1023 would allow individuals, businesses and government employees to deny services based on religious grounds. Rep. Sam Teasley authored the bill, which is sponsored by four other representatives.

I did a diary on the bill about concealed carry last week in Ga and just last week some idiots were arrested on domestic terrorist charges of some militia group. They now have the Stars and Bars and I knew they were going to try and out extreme any other state including Florida in the union. I wish I was wrong.. I am not.
