Last week our first baby goat arrived. We expect our other goats to give birth this month.
This is a short video of the three-day-old kid with its mother, who is a Saanen goat.

This is the father. He is a Halep (Aleppo) goat.
We are trying to breed Saanen goats with Halep goats. Both are good milk producers and we hope that the hardiness of Halep goats and the calmness of Saanen goats will be a good hybrid.

These are some of the wild orchids that are growing in our fields. I'm waiting for them to bloom so I can determine just which species they are.
Wild orchids used to be found everywhere in the region where our farm is, but due to over harvesting they are not very plentiful now.
The tubers of these orchids are dried and ground into a flour called Salep which is used in desserts and beverages.
I'm trying to locate all of the wild orchids in our fields so that we can replant or protect them before we start using the fields.
