Senator Cory Booker (D. NJ) is teaming up with a potential 2016 presidential candidate (and my personal preference) in calling on Congress to raise the minimum wage:
Cory Booker and I are both former mayors. Mayors don’t care about ideology, they’re focused on doing what works. That’s why Senator Booker and I are working to raise the minimum wage: because it will spur economic growth and help move families out of poverty.
It’s been almost five years since minimum wage workers received a pay raise in the United States. Since then, the federal minimum wage has lost value, and families are working harder, but falling farther behind.
In Maryland, we’re in the middle of a campaign to raise the wage to $10.10 per hour, because we know that a thriving middle class isn’t the consequence of growth and prosperity, it is the source.
In the Senate, leaders like my friend Cory Booker are paving the way for congressional action that will make work pay for ALL Americans.
Join Senator Cory Booker and me and sign our joint-petition calling on Congress to raise the minimum wage for working families across the country.

I enthusiastically joined Senator Booker on the campaign trail in New Jersey last year, and am just as excited to join him now to push for national action on the minimum wage.
Raising the wage is not just the right thing to do for working families, it’s pro-business and will help build a thriving middle class.
When workers have more money, businesses have more customers. Sign our joint-petition calling on Congress to make work pay for all Americans by raising the minimum wage in 2014.

No person who works hard and plays by the rules should be forced to raise their family in poverty. Not in the United States of America.
We’re all in this together,
Martin O’Malley
Governor, Maryland
