Spring ahead, as the mnemonic says. Daylight Saving Time from now till around Halloween.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
We have split up the publishing duties, but we welcome everyone in IAN to do daily diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!
If you would like to fill in, either post in thread or send FloridaSNMom a Kosmail with the date. If you need someone to fill in, ditto. FSNMom is here on and off through the day usually from around 9:30 or 10 am eastern to around 11 pm eastern.
If you'd like to be part of the Itzl Alert Network, please leave a comment asking to join, or send us a message asking to join. We'd love to have you. The bigger our network, the less likely someone will be stranded all alone.
The time change doesn't bother me, but I seem to be about the only person I know who doesn't have any trouble with it. I've had more than one person recommend to me driving rather more carefully than usual for the two or three weeks following the change.
I've spent the past week feeling irritated. Have I ever mentioned that "Here, Judy, do this" is my least favorite training method?
I got hit at the last minute with a brand new chore (scheduling subjects for a study) - and three different times I was just about ready to pick up the phone and start calling people when a new consideration was brought to my attention. For example, that there is only one morning a week where it is possible to have everybody involved in the study actually involved - which was the second of the "oh crap" emails I got.
I did get two people scheduled on Friday. And then got told by the tech involved that I should wait on doing more because one of the doctors involved might need one slot I'd scheduled for his own study. Oh, crap. Once I get all my questions answered, I don't actually mind doing this sort of thing, but I really hate the politicking involved in trying to get everybody the time and equipment they need to do what they have to.
It's been raining. We had an absolute downpour a few days back, but mostly it's been basic rain. And still cold enough that the snowpack in the mountains is getting a little deeper - I've heard it's less than normal, which is worrisome with regard to fire season, but it isn't melting off yet to the best of my knowledge.
My place is starting to look cluttered again, but it's probably less than it appears - it certainly was the last few times I decluttered.
If you have a cat who refuses to use the box more than once or twice between cleanings, might I recommend to you Arm & Hammer's new version, Clump & Seal? They mean it. Nothing sinks in and the litter below the clumps on the top is perfectly dry. And I found it quite easy to fork out. However, it pretty much requires daily cleaning.
Oh, yes. My grandkids each have their own copy of Where's My Cow? as of a few days back. The one I gave my grandson for Christmas went missing, so I bought another one which my granddaughter laid claim to when I took it over since they had already found the missing one. It's an expansion with illustrations of a delightful and silly episode in the Discworld book Thud. All of us love it.
