CREDO Action is helping put together another big anti-fracking event on March 15th to put the pressure on Governor Jerry Brown (D. CA):
California's drought is the worst in recorded history -- and, despite the recent rain, it's expected to continue for the foreseeable future. Sierra snowpack is at dangerously low levels. Farmers are letting their fields go fallow. And many communities are running dangerously low on water.
But even as Governor Brown urges ordinary Californians to take shorter showers and flush the toilet less frequently, he's poised to sign off on Big Oil's plan to massively ramp up water-intensive, planet-warming fracking for dirty oil.
For months, activists have rallied outside of Governor Brown's public appearances in cities across the state to urge him to stop fracking in California. We've put him on the defensive and made fracking a major statewide issue -- but to win this fight, we need to step it up in a major way.
On Saturday, March 15, Californians from across the state will flood the streets of Sacramento to send Governor Brown a clear message: Don't frack California. This will be the largest anti-fracking mobilization in our state's history, and we need you to be there to make sure Governor Brown hears us.
What: Don't Frack California
When: Saturday, March 15, 1 PM
Where: California State Capitol, 1315 10th St., Sacramento, CA 95814
