Good Morning Kossacks and Welcome to Morning Open Thread (MOT)
We're known as the MOTley Crew and you can find us here every morning at 0630 am Eastern time (or 3.00 or 7.00 depending on which boilerplate you use). Feel free to volunteer to take a day - permanently or just once in awhile. With the Auto Publish feature you can set it and forget it. Sometimes the diarist du jour shows up much later: that's the beauty of Open Thread...it carries on without you! Volunteer in the comment threads

In a recent, and as always excellent, diary by Shortfinals,he revealed that he and I share a birthday. Now the only other person I know who shares that birthday is the very talented and beautiful Elkie Brooks, whom I have had the pleasure of meeting on a couple of occasions (the first when I interviewed her for my college newspaper in 1973!!).
So I thought it would be nice to post a youtube of Elkie in SF´s diary as a way of saying "Happy Birthday", and selected the classic Pearl´s a Singer.
Now this was almost 2 weeks ago, but that song has lodged in my ear ever since, with snippets running all day and night .
Now I checked Mr Google, and apparently 98% of people get earworms, and there is no known cure. Ear worms have even been studied by the eminentJames J. Kellaris, PhD, who found that the´six most common earworms at the time of his study (2002) were
Chili's "Baby Back Ribs" jingle.
"Who Let the Dogs Out"
"We Will Rock You"
Kit-Kat candy-bar jingle ("Gimme a Break ...")
"Mission Impossible" theme
"YMCA"
However,I believe one strategy is to pass it onto someone else. So with apologies in advance, here is Elkie in London in 2004.

So, have you, or recently had, an earworm, and what was it?
