President Obama and the Democrats shut the government. But if you ask South Carolina Rep. Mark Sanford the same question, you won't get the same answer. Because in his opinion:
The government didn’t shut down.Sanford acknowledges that everybody thinks the government shut down, but because "only" 40 percent of the Federal workforce was furloughed during the shutdown, he thinks a shutdown didn't really happen.
The moral of the story: Don't ever let it be said that there isn't a diversity of opinion among the tea party. True, they were all unanimously in favor of the shutdown. But some of them, like Ted Cruz, blame it on President Obama. And others, like Mark Sanford, say it never happened.
