Just yesterday, El Salvador elected a new president. Salvador Ceren, member of the current party in power, the FMLN. The win was a very thin but never less a big win, considering the Arena invest a lot money paying for ids, free lunches, transportation and an incentive of $50.00 dollars with the promise to make them, monthly permanent if they win. To that, we can add the step up "be afraid, be very afraid campain" from Arena and the members of the Plantation mentality that still persist in the extreme right in Miami and in the republican party. Jim Demint this is a link so you can see what kind or madness I am talking about.
Now, my concern is, that the same intolerant people intolerant people that are doing the caos in Venezuela, are going to joint forces with who ever here and make the salvadorenan people a night mare. Norman Quijano the arena contender was calling in the arms force, basically to take over the country with a coup. That is the only way this people know how to win. Historically the right win never has won any legal elections. Before the peace sign in 1992, all the elections has been rig, by the right wing with the help of the USA, and after the signing, the USA and the right were doing worst, during those years the salvadorenan neo-cons privatized almost everything, and steal almost what is the equivalent of the external salvadoren debt.
My biggest hope, is to have a better El Salvador. With free unions, yes better than here, where the progressive looks to run away from them. Free education at least til High School. Free, yes, health sevices. I do not believe the health, education has to be stain with capital.
How we are going to pay for that? we are going to work harder and make sure the the rich people are not evading taxes, that they are not stealing, that the politician also do not use the money for dark purpose...hey, I wish that for here too;)
My biggest concern, that the extreme right in miami., start with their disinformation and the rest of the USA just follow the same way they have been doing with Venezuela.
