both Black and Turkey Vultures hanging out and watching down on me.

March 2014
Quite a sight this cool morning when I stepped outside to look around after a near freeze last night. I guess the warm sun brought out these buzzards looking for a tree to roost in. My dead Loblolly pine snag, maybe 80' tall, was a good spot.
Here is a dozen of them
It appears that most of them were Black Vultures like these 2 out on the end of a limb.
Follow their eyes below the fold for more photos...
It was not just the dead pine either. Here's a few more over in a Water Oak full of catkins. If you look closely, you can see a Turkey Vulture with the distinctive red forehead looking down at me.
This group out on a limb was funny. One would turn around, and the rest would turn. They seem to be quite social - sorta like chickens or turkeys roosting.
Closeup of Turkey Vulture.
And one last photo of both species
I don't have much to say about these buzzards. Just a quick bucket to get things started today. Never did get to freezing last night and today will be @ 70 here in the woods west of Tallahassee.
And The Daily Bucket is now open for your thoughts and observations...
