More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

Oh wait!  Sorry, I forgot, the Civil War had nothing to do with slavery, it was states' rights.  Same for teabaggin'.

I had my billfold stolen from the house, and I had a RC transmitter, a LiPo charger, and a sub-woofer amplifier stolen out of the garage. I had an officer come out and fill out a report. I just got off the phone with Citi and reported all three of my cards.

BTW, two of them had zero balance.....

Austin, Texas (CNN) -- A driver who plowed into a crowded street at a popular festival in Austin this week, killing two people, was charged with capital murder, police said Friday.
Rashad Charjuan Owens allegedly tore through the crowd while drunk, running over people and hitting other cars. At least 23 others were injured.
    Funny name.  Probably quite tan.
(CNN) -- A judge on Wednesday ordered that Ethan Couch -- who drove drunk and caused a crash, killing four people and injuring two -- go to a lock-down residential treatment facility.
State District Judge Jean Boyd had already decided the Texas teenager would serve no jail time. He was sentenced last year to 10 years' probation.
    Normal name.  Very white.

Apparently the Funny Name guy didn't kill enough people to get probation.

  •  Racist Code Words (0+ / 0-)

Over at The Root there is a post on 8 racist code words that conservatives use to enrage the white masses.  One that is missing, in my mind, is the free market.  Now, I know on Daily Kos most writers use this in a descriptive of ironic way, as I do, but most conservatives use it in a coded way.

For example, the assumption is that the free market would cater to the needs of white people, so there would not all this ethnic stuff in the supermarkets.  Or that a labor market unencumbered by government or union distortions would result in lower white male unemployment, because, even if two applicants are the same on paper, anyone knows that a white male would be the superior choice.  Or that any firm would of course be primarily interested in selling to the 1% because these are the people with money.  Any policy that would restrict would the 1% from acquiring goods and services just so the other 99% can have a reliable flow of cheap goods and services would never be supported by the free market.

    23. What about those passengers who were flying (on missing Malaysian flight 370) with stolen passports?
Interpol says it has identified the men as Iranians Pouri Nourmohammadi, 18, and Delavar Seyed Mohammad Reza, 29, and Malaysian investigators say neither of them has any apparent connection to terrorist organizations. Stolen passports don't necessarily indicate terrorism. In fact, passengers flew without having their travel documents checked against its lost-and-stolen passport database more than a billion times in 2013, according to Interpol. Among the reasons someone might use a stolen passport: to immigrate to another country, to export goods without being paying taxes or to smuggle stolen goods, people, drugs or weapons.
