*UPDATE: I forgot to put "Scandals" in the title without inverted commas. Thanks to janet476 and tybandit for pointing that out.
Also, I have discovered more examples of Faux's tying of MH370 to Obama. They have been added and the diary has been rearranged accordingly.*
Fox News will link anything back to something they don't like about Obama just to keep it alive. They will take the tiniest, most insignificant link they can find. If they can't find a link, they'll invent one. For example, on the March 18 edition of The Kelly File, Fox's strategic analyst Ralph Peters said this:
The Malaysian government was obviously blindsided. They didn't know what to do. It was sort of their Benghazi scandal. The Malaysian military was embarrassed, the Malaysian airline was embarrassed.
On the
March 19 edition of
The Five, Greg Gutfeld said this:
But America could close this investigation fast if it wanted to -- Well, as long as the plane's not hidden in Benghazi or the IRS building.
On the
March 20 edition of The Five, while commenting on the response to Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 by the Malaysian government, Andrea Tantaros said this:
I mean, watching the footage, and watching the footage of that Malaysian woman that was being played over and over last night, it's just so sad. But think how long it took for them to get this kind of media attention. I mean, living in Malaysia, the government seemingly ignored these people. They didn't want their stories to get out. They weren't talking to them, I mean, they were taking - you saw the cameras swarming, they were saying 'no one has come to my house, no one has told me what has happened.' Bob, get ready, put - put these in your ears: Feels like the families of Benghazi. Just saying.
But Tantaros is not the end of it. Later the same day, Bill O'Reilly
said this on his show:
The network news doesn't want to cover important stories like the IRS and Benghazi, but they can cover the airliner without any political consequences.
Bill, what appears to be the deadliest crash in over a decade and the third-deadliest crash of the 21st century (not counting 9/11) as well as one of the most bizarre and mysterious crashes ever, that also involves a plane used on a massive scale, is an important story, unlike the stories you have been manufacturing for a year and a half.
But there's more. On the March 21 edition of Fox & Friends, legal analyst Peter Johnson, Jr said this:
This is quite incredible, and it's an incredible phenomenon. Leading the nightly newscasts in America for the last 11 days, these newscasts don't focus on things like Benghazi, Fast & Furious, and IRS. But they do have the capacity to understand this story, and as do we here at Fox News Channel.
The after the attack, President Obama
said this with the world, and the families, watching:
Good morning. Every day, all across the world, American diplomats and civilians work tirelessly to advance the interests and values of our nation. Often, they are away from their families. Sometimes, they brave great danger.
Yesterday, four of these extraordinary Americans were killed in an attack on our diplomatic post in Benghazi. Among those killed was our Ambassador, Chris Stevens, as well as Foreign Service Officer Sean Smith. We are still notifying the families of the others who were killed. And today, the American people stand united in holding the families of the four Americans in our thoughts and in our prayers.
The United States condemns in the strongest terms this outrageous and shocking attack. We're working with the government of Libya to secure our diplomats. I've also directed my administration to increase our security at diplomatic posts around the world. And make no mistake, we will work with the Libyan government to bring to justice the killers who attacked our people.
One cannot be more strong, and clear, and unequivocal. The confused response to MH370 is nothing like that.
