Can we all work together for peace in the world? Or are we condemned to live in a state of perpetual war? Is there any hope?
Shani Rigsbee and the artists she assembled have something to say. So first of all hear the song and watch the YouTube below.
Shani lives nearby, we are neighbors by Los Angeles standards, and I had a chance to talk to her tonight. She is adorable and very committed to say the least. Lately I have been feeling almost distraught about the prospects for peace around the world. So when I heard her song I felt inspired to diary about it. It gave me hope.
Artists from around the world singing a beautiful song; Ana Victoria (Mexico), Andy (Persian/Armenian), Ehsan Aman (Afghanistan), Sung Bong Choi (Korea), Ishtar (France), Liel Kolet (Israel), Momo Loudiyi (Morocco), Sonu Nigam (India), Igor Nikolaev (Russia), Naser Musa (Palestine), Tim Pierce (Guitar), Jahan Raymond (Piano), Kenny Aronoff (Drums), Morris Hayes (Keyboards), Shani(U.S.)
The song is spreading around the world and whatever money is raised will go to children charities. Shani was inspired to write We Hear Your Voice after she read on the Internet that people in conflicting war zones were reaching out to each other (Israelis to Palestinians and Iranians and vice versa, for instance) saying that they do not agree with their governments calling for war and they the people only wanted peace. I want peace too. Do you?
So listen, enjoy and let me know what you think. If you have any questions I'll run them by Shani and if it makes sense I'll diary again.
This is the Facebook page for We Hear Your Voice and this is Shani's page.
And BTW she is a Dem who supported Obama.
