In the wake of the latest, horrifying shooting at a military base, I extend my heartfelt condolences to those family and friends who are devastated...
... but...
... For all of the, hmmm.... let's call them "Republicans" who think that everyone (thanks again, PippySnips) carrying a gun will somehow end gun violence? A question, and a statement:
1. Everyone on the latest base killing was packing, so why did people get killed? Huh?
2. The Earps (and many more shire reeves) of the old west, when they were in charge, them cowboys were required to surrender their guns at the city limits, to avoid gun play and death. No, really. Look it up.
So... guns don't kill people, people kill people? How many times has a baseball bat "gone off" and killed a sleeping child 6 blocks away? And if you're still spluttering and furious at this cold hard fact, tell it to the Earps.
