Off cycle election years are all about Get Out the Vote, and that starts about now. Over the next few months, I will be analyzing the Congressional races in all 50 states. But, for now, let's start on the Senate.
https://secure.actblue.com/...
The Senate, the Senate, the Senate.
Even if we gain the House, we need to hold the Senate, because if we lose the Senate, we will have stalemates and worse going forward.
What's worse than stalemates?
Well, the Senate confirms all the judges.
And if there's one thing that rich folks hate even more than Unions, it is having to go to court, where the great unwashed stand in judgment of them. And if they never appoint another judge again, it will be too soon.
America is a land of laws more than anything else. And the rich folk hate having to follow the same laws as everyone else.
So, the Senate, the Senate, the Senate.
You've heard all the names of our incumbents, but I would like to introduce you to someone you might not have heard of. Shenna Bellows, of Maine. Here's her website:
http://bellowsforsenate.com. Check the About section. Shenna has cobbled together a coalition of Libertarians who hate the PATRIOT Act, and what passes for "privacy" in this day and age, and her stance on Marriage Equality. As a former head of the ACLU in Maine, well, I couldn't be prouder to share a real live last name with her. I don't think I am related to her. More's the pity. Anyway, she's not getting any press. But she should be. She's a good solid candidate, and I'm supporting her.
I'll be adding Congressional races to my ActBlue page, too. So, save the link!
