Terri Lynn Land
Boy, Terri Lynn Land, the Republican Senate candidate in Michigan, sure does not want to denounce her supporters at Right to Life of Michigan who
suggested that her opponent, Democratic Rep. Gary Peters, is opposed to an extreme anti-abortion bill because he "wants to make sure abortion is accessible and cheap for his daughters." That charge came last week, and Land is
still silent on that attack and on how she'll campaign going forward:
U.S. Rep. Gary Peters pledged Wednesday that the children of candidates will be kept out of the U.S. Senate campaign and asks that his Republican opponent make the same commitment.
Peters, D-Bloomfield Township, wrote an open letter to GOP candidate Terri Lynn Land, the former two-time secretary of state, urging her to sign a pledge to keep negative attacks on either of their children out of their competitive race for an open Senate seat.
Seriously, if you can't say you won't attack your opponent's kids, that says a lot about the campaign you intend to run. Land's answer—or non-answer—here will be telling.
