Vic Meyers is fired up in his run for Congress in Colorado's 4th Congressional District
We've covered Democratic Candidate in the now-open race in Colorado's 4th Congressional District, Vic Meyers, a few times before, both through one of his campaign events and for a full, in-depth interview with him on the issues.

Now Vic Meyers is releasing his first campaign video on where he stands on the issues.  Below the fold is Meyers speaking at his ranch and directly at the camera in frank terms on why he's running for Congress:

Hi, I'm Vic Myers from Trinidad and I'm running represent Colorado's 4th
Congressional District.

I'm a husband father, a working man and a veteran.  Like you, the economic recovery hasn't quite reached me.  That's why last fall I had to sell my horse Gypsy.  I was thinking about Gypsy the other day and I realize that sending Republicans back to Congress is kinda like having a saddle with no horse.  See, it just won’t take you anywhere.  For some reason, the Republicans seem to think that a place called Benghazi is more important to this district than social security, being protected, and immigration reform, infrastructure investment, and ironically, our veterans.

But if you’ll elect me, send me to Congress, I’ll fight against implementing Chained CPI and cutting benefits from our social security beneficiaries.  I’ll fight to make sure immigration reform is passed.  I’ll fight for infrastructure investment, rail, bridges, roads, digital, and especially wind and solar so that we can bring jobs and living wages back to this district.  We can give our small towns and family farms a chance to survive for another generation.

Finally, as a veteran myself, as the son and grandson of a veteran and as the father of the future veteran, I’ll honor the service and the sacrifice that our young men and women are giving every day.  I’ll hope you support me.

(Vic Meyers jumps on saddle)

Nope!  Just doesn’t work.

So it is apparent and clear from this video that Vic Meyers confirms he's a progressive Democrat but also is an underdog and a working person who has had his shares of struggles like everyone else in the process of the economic recovery post-Great Recession.

For more insight on Meyers, you can read our interview with him here where we asked him a number of questions and got pretty much direct answers:

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
