More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

You can add a private note to this diary when hotlisting it:
Are you sure you want to remove this diary from your hotlist?
Are you sure you want to remove your recommendation? You can only recommend a diary once, so you will not be able to re-recommend it afterwards.
Rescue this diary, and add a note:
Are you sure you want to remove this diary from Rescue?
Choose where to republish this diary. The diary will be added to the queue for that group. Publish it from the queue to make it appear.

You must be a member of a group to use this feature.

Add a quick update to your diary without changing the diary itself:
Are you sure you want to remove this diary?
(The diary will be removed from the site and returned to your drafts for further editing.)
(The diary will be removed.)
Are you sure you want to save these changes to the published diary?

tip jars. You are becoming a "hit and run" diary author. That's why there is little response to your diaries.

As a diary you typically post a video or two, no narrative, and only one response to someone who commented in your last nine diaries. And little engagement on the site with the diaries of other authors.

    Why are you here?

If it is to elevate the discussion about the perils of homeless people the way to do that is to build a following by making comments in hundreds of diaries so people will look for your diaries and respond to them. When they do you need to engage them and build conversations with them. That's how you go from diaries with few comments and RECs to one that is well read and facilitates the discussion you want to have about the plight of the homeless.

      1) I don't even know what "tip jar" means. Doing an online search for it shows some comment thread that concludes, "A tip jar is just an easy way to say to the diarist, "Hey, thanks for writing that diary." The user gets some points for mojo (which is largely meaningless) and a little warm fuzzy feeling." It automatically appears when I post and I have not control over that as far as I know.

      2) I try to reply people who appear to have kind intent yet also ask direct questions - I don't know how to turn on comment notifications if there is such a thing here.

      3) My signatures show links to my social media sites where I do my best to reply to all comments.

      4) People are welcome to get whatever they want with what I share.

      •  The comment on the tip jars is just to note (0+ / 0-)

that you are not making comments in your own diary, which is one of the responsibilities of diary authors here, or comments in the diaries of others. You aren't engaging the community here, just dropping videos with no editorial context by you or anyone else. If you keep that practice people will pay less attention and certainly won't follow you to your blog.

about how to have the material you post here have more impact. I had assumed that was your intention.

Thank you. However, a good chunk of people online like to bait others for arguments and I don't have time for that. I do my best to reply to people who post on my social media links as well or anyone who posts a direct question if I catch it.

I am a video maker, not a writer/blogger. This platform enables me to share my vids so that's what I do.

If anything I've learned over the recent months to stop replying to people on other platforms as well as people who are just looking for online fights.
