This morning the 15th Administrative Court in Ankara issued an injunction which orders the Turkish government's telecommunications authority to lift its ban on Twitter.
Additionally, the Turkish Constitutional Court (Supreme Court) held a hearing this morning on a separate petition submitted to it by opponents to the ban and the court ruled that, referencing the Administrative Court's decision, no other ruling was necessary.
The Administrative Court's written injunction is expected to be issued and served on the telecommunications authority this afternoon, and this should result in the lifting of the Twitter ban, but some legal experts have said that the telecommunications authority has 30 days to implement the injunction.
The telecommunications authority can appeal the injunction to a higher court which could hold a hearing and issue a ruling which lifts the injunction.
Attention is now focused on what the government's telecommunications authority will do.
