Received this e-mail from Wendy Davis' (D. TX) gubernatorial campaign:
The secret’s out in a big way: Greg Abbott is on the wrong side of the equal pay issue.
Why? Because Abbott is opposed to laws making it easier for Texas women to fight discrimination in state court.
Friend, Wendy fights for all Texans. That includes women who want -- and deserve -- to be paid fairly for their work, and the families that rely on their income.
We’ve put together a new press video of Abbott’s business as usual position on equal pay. Click here to watch it. Then sign on to support Texas women.

Greg Abbott’s not just coming to the wrong conclusion on this issue, he’s listening to the wrong people. His allies have some truly bizarre notions of why the wage gap exists: like that women are “too busy” to get equal pay, or that men are just “better negotiators.”
Wendy on the other hand is listening to Texans -- the women and men she meets as she criss-crosses the state. The ones who say that their economic security depends on a woman’s salary -- and they can’t afford to lose money every month because of the gender wage gap.
To understand the importance of equal pay, maybe Greg Abbott should talk to his own female employees, who make less than his male employees.
If you have a minute (actually, 47 seconds), watch the video. Then sign the petition to show your support for equal pay.

One thing’s for sure -- when Wendy is governor, women and families in Texas will know that she’s on their side.
Thank you for standing with her.
