I am somehow on the RNC mailing list, so I get their secret strategy bulletins and their desperate pleas for money.
Today's plea for money strikes me as particularly lame. See below the googly moogly thing and see how I am responding to their latest, lamest fundraising plea:
Today, the RNC brought out one of their least popular politicians: George H.W. Bush, the man who lost to Bill Clinton and who fathered our worst president ever, the little Bush.
Here's what the elected Bush has to say to us:
As we approach what is certain to be one of the most important mid-term elections in our nation's history, nothing is more vital to our Party's success than a strong, well-funded Republican National Committee (RNC).
I am proud to say that I am doing my part to lay the foundation for victory in 2014 by supporting the RNC. I hope you will follow my lead by making a special gift today.
RNC Chairman Reince Priebus is doing the hard work to build our Party and prepare for the tremendous challenges—and opportunities—ahead. I think Reince has done a terrific job, and going forward he has made it clear to me that he has two key goals as Chairman: to unite our Party and to secure Republican victories all across America.
I strongly back Reince and these critically important objectives.
Okay, first of all, they really think that the elected and then defeated Bush is going to get them that many donations? Have they moved on from the ghost of Ronald Reagan?
Second, just how has Reince united the Greedy Oil Party? They still have a virulent and angry teabagger insurrection going on. No new unity there. They are also among the most unpopular politicians in modern history even among their own base. Ah...uniting their party against themselves through their incompetence?
Finally, Republican victories...well 2013 didn't go well for them, did it? Democrats SWEPT the statewide races in Virginia. Sorry, but if THAT is what they call victory, well then I am all for it! Let's have more victories like Virginia's 2013 Gov, Lt. Gov. and Sec. of State races!!
And you know what? Can we all donate to get more such victories? In honor of George H W Bush, I ask you all to donate to my Closest Races 2014 Act Blue site so we can defeat the Greedy Oil Party. THAT is my response to Georgie. My fundraising page is already over $600 for key Democratic candidates throughout the country. In honor of George H W Bush's defeat by Bill Clinton, can we make it $1000? In honor of Democratic victories in Virginia 2013, can we make it even more than $1000?
Let's show the Greedy Oil Party we are sick of their obstructionist policies that hurt 99% of Americans. Please donate to my Act Blue Pageand let's get some momentum going!
