This diary will be used as a forum for the following question: Who should represent The Progressive Ticket in the California 33rd District elections?
The Progressive Ticket is a crowdsourced list of political candidates who the Dailykos Community at large support for their respective elections. The candidates will be chosen largely from community-wide debate and consensus. The goal is to have a Progressive option for every election in November, write-in or otherwise.
Notice a blank in the Ticket that should be filled, or a name that should be erased, or an election you want to see discussed in a future forum? Let us know in the comments.

I have primarily based the choice to do this district on a fellow kossack,
Shockwave's diary. Being focused on the community, I think it is important to highlight the races in which the Daily Kos community is or should be highly interested.
As the diary shows, it offers the chance to elect a truly Liberal/Progressive candidate, being a deep blue district.
In addition, due to California's top two system, there is also need to build consensus for who the Progressive choice should be.
Of course in addition to discussing the subject here, I highly encourage you to go to the original diary and read, comment, and reply there as well.
Of the 18 candidates, the diarist focuses on 5:
Wendy Greuel, who ran for LA mayor last year
Ted Lieu, current California state senator
Matt Miller, a popular radio personality
David Kanuth, an LA public defender
and Marianne Williamson, an author and lecturer who is actually running as an independent. However, as Shockwave demonstrates, you shouldn't necessarily discount her for that.
Make your voice heard. This is your chance to build up Democrats.
Met any of these candidates? Object to any of their positions? Write what you have to say about these candidates in the comments. And read what others have to say as well. Then come back tomorrow, when we will put it to a vote. And the Progressive Ticket will have its representative for CA-33.
