'Captain North Korea' would be a very different superhero.
Mike Huckabee thinks he's running for president again. This means we will be hearing even more from him, which can never be considered a good thing. Here is Mike Huckabee pandering to a Koch-backed summit this weekend.
“My gosh, I’m beginning to think that there’s more freedom in North Korea sometimes than there is in the United States,” he said in his remarks. “When I go to the airport, I have to get in the surrender position, people put hands all over me, and I have to provide photo ID and a couple of different forms and prove that I really am not going to terrorize the airplane – but if I want to go vote I don’t need a thing.”
All right, I'll bite: Do we really want a president who thinks maybe that North Korea is doing "freedom" better than we are? Someone we should be taking pointers from? I realize that airport security theater is something up with which the modern patriot will not put, but I'm thinking even Sarah Palin and her prop large-size soda cup recognizes that there might be bigger problems going on in North Korea than being patted down at the Pyongyang airport.

Conversely, not needing to provide "photo ID and a couple of different forms" in order to cast a vote is somehow considered ... oppression? Worse-than-North-Korea oppression? Huh.

Mike Huckabee is never going to be president. Mike Huckabee's problem, bluntly, is that he suffers from an extreme case of radio mouth. Like Rush Limbaugh (whose obsessions and viewpoints Huck has increasingly adopted as his own), he cannot help but say extremist things in keep his daily audience of retirees and bored truckers entertained, and has over time lost most of his ability to know when he is saying something Unbelievably Damn Stupid. A politician would know that claiming America has less freedom than North Korea is, at best, a gaffe; a radio mouth considers it just another day's show.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
