Senate candidate Chris McDaniel; campaign image
It may not be scientifically possible to describe how big a tool McDaniel is.
I have serious questions as to whether it is even possible to be too extremist or race-baiting for the Mississippi Republican Party to stomach, but Senate candidate Chris McDaniel seems determined to test that theory. Because he used to be (God help us, etc.) a far-right radio talking head, there's lots and lots of documentation as to his recent opinions on things.
Mississippi Senator Chris McDaniel hosted two radio shows in the mid-2000s, The Right Side and Right Talk, and wrote blog posts for the sites associated with the shows as well. The majority of commentary and blog posts were either signed by McDaniel at the bottom of the post or were unsigned.
And the opinions presented were pretty much what you would expect. Here's a post about the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina:
Had the hurricane been approaching Orange County, California or South Beach, Miami, the great majority of residents in either of those towns would probably have heeded the countless evacuation warnings and left for higher ground (especially if their city was located below sea level). But not the welfare dependent citizens of New Orleans (of all races, including black and white). Playing their part in the drama that was suggestive of liberalism's greatest failure, many in New Orleans simply ignored common sense and waited for the great federal father to save them. Others seized on Katrina's "opportunity" to assault, loot and steal. NOTE TO THE LEFT: Unless you live in Detroit, the basic necessities of life do not include big screen plasma TV's, Randy Moss jerseys, Air Jordan sneakers or any type of "bling-bling."
What a peach this guy is. No, really, Republicans; if the point of all this is to prove that you can be the worst and creepiest human imaginable and still have a very good shot of being made a senator, you've nailed it this time.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
