It looks like our great Fourth Estate has made things clear, with regards to their coverage of the killings of three people in Kansas City, in a series of blatant hate crimes against the Jewish community.
They gave it a big yawn. CNN is back to being the Malaysian Plane Crash Channel, and FAUX News is back to using the Bundy story as fodder in their attempts to incite terrorism. If you want informed, objective journalism, cable news is not the place to get it.
The manhunt didn't appear to take long either. It didn't have to, at least to catch Frazier Glenn Miller. He didn't run very far after committing those murders.
Randi Rhodes raised a very good question on her show last night. What would have happened, if the Kansas City terrorist had yelled "Allahu Ackbar!" from the back of that police cruiser, instead of "Heil Hitler!"?
As we've just passed the anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombing, we only have to look back a year to see.
Now granted, the Tsarnaevs needed a big manhunt to bring them down, while Cross let himself get caught. But here's a question. Did Cross act alone? Remember, he was an organizer of multiple extremist right-wing groups, he was a Grand Dragon of the Ku Klux Klan, he had went to prison before for organizing and participating in extremist violence.
So, did he act alone in this case? How did a convicted violent felon manage to get the weapons he used to shoot four people? The post-crime investigation seems to be pretty lackadaisical.
In Boston, however, the manhunt was the most extreme manhunt in recent history. Virtually all of Boston and its suburbs closed for business. Police were out, in body armor, wielding heavy weapons, riding in tanks, while schools and businesses were closed. Windows were shuttered, and the entire town was in lockdown for most of a week.
And after they caught Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, and killed his brother, it didn't end. Boston reopened for business, but like after 9/11, Everything Had Changed.
Of course, the media went completely apeshit. CNN and FOX both became the Boston Bombing Channels, for weeks, with their bobbleheads preaching that we must give up freedom for security. After all, Everything Had Changed.
Oh, and what happened to Ibragim Todashev? Oh yeah, he shot himself in the back of the head six times during an FBI interrogation. Of course, the agents involved were cleared of wrongdoing.
There we have it. Two terrorist incidents. One of which caused a freakout that was only eclipsed by 9/11. The other got a yawn.
How are these two acts of terrorism different? Oh yeah, one was done by a white domestic terrorist, the other was done by brown Muslims.
