More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

You can add a private note to this diary when hotlisting it:
Are you sure you want to remove this diary from your hotlist?
Are you sure you want to remove your recommendation? You can only recommend a diary once, so you will not be able to re-recommend it afterwards.
Rescue this diary, and add a note:
Are you sure you want to remove this diary from Rescue?
Choose where to republish this diary. The diary will be added to the queue for that group. Publish it from the queue to make it appear.

You must be a member of a group to use this feature.

Add a quick update to your diary without changing the diary itself:
Are you sure you want to remove this diary?
(The diary will be removed from the site and returned to your drafts for further editing.)
(The diary will be removed.)
Are you sure you want to save these changes to the published diary?

That would make a hell of a marketing campaign. ;D

GOP 2014 strategy -- Hire clowns, elephants, and a ringmaster and say "a media circus" has emerged and blame Democrats for lack of progress. Have pundits agree that "both sides are to blame" and hope the public will stay home on election day.

Compton residents weren't told about the spying, which happened in 2012. "We literally watched all of Compton during the times that we were flying, so we could zoom in anywhere within the city of Compton and follow cars and see people," Ross McNutt of Persistence Surveillance Systems told the Center for Investigative Reporting. The technology he's trying to sell to police departments all over America can stay aloft for up to six hours. Like Google Earth, it enables police to zoom in on certain areas

The Republicans have made it pretty clear that Paul Ryan’s budget is their platform for these midterm elections.

Let’s be plain about this: This budget is fundamentally at odds with what we believe. It would directly hurt millions of hardworking Americans and their families. It turns Medicare into a voucher program. And it would repeal Obamacare.

If Republicans hold on to their majority in the House and win back control of the Senate in November – and believe me, that’s a real possibility – then I can guarantee you that we’ll see more backwards proposals like this one coming out of a Republican Congress for the rest of this President’s time in office.

The only way we can put a stop to Republicans’ bad ideas, like those in the Ryan budget, is to leave everything on the field every single day from now until Election Day.

Stand with the Democrats who are going to fight Paul Ryan’s budget and all the other plans Republicans come up with that would harm the middle class.

  •  All boy scouts needs if fairness (1+ / 0-)

If they are worried about the moral leadership of scoutmasters, then treat all scoutmasters the same.  If a scoutmaster is livings with his girlfriend, and promoting fornication to the troop, then kick him out.  If a scoutmaster has been divorced for any reason other than his wife was unfaithful, and has remarried, then kick him out.  In fact, if any scoutmaster who has not been married is not willing to declare in front of his troops and the community that he is not a virgin, then kick him out.

My problem is not that the boy scouts do not allow gay people, the US has a long tradition that any private organization has the right to promote bigotry, it is that they won't admit they are just aribtratily picking on the homosexuals.  They try to hid behind the bible and community standards.  Well, I don't know if you noticed, but the community has little problem when a gay DINK couple comes in and buys a house and helps renovate a neighborhood.  Likewise the bible hardly makes arguably less of an issue with man lying with a man than with fornication or adultery, and sodomy is really gender neutral. So by attacking gay people while promoting fornication, it seems kind of unfair.  Oh, and while they are at it, they should have all married couples declare that oral sex is not part of their private lives.

  •  Woman sues over denial of vanity plate. (11+ / 0-)

It's okay to express your belief on your car, just not your non-belief. You're "objectionable."

Shannon Morgan, a resident of Leesburg, N.J., is a self-described atheist who wanted to proclaim her disbelief in God with a custom license plate. She says she went online to the state motor vehicle commission’s website and applied for a plate reading “8THEIST.”

But after she submitted her request, the site informed her that it couldn’t process it because the term she wanted “is considered objectionable,” according to a federal lawsuit she filed on Thursday. The suit says she then tested to see whether the motor vehicle agency would allow the word “BAPTIST” and discovered that the Christian term raised no red flags. WSJ
