Our meet ups are casual and fun. I really hope you can join us. Would love to see some new faces!

Our third meet up is quickly approaching and we'd love it if you could make it. The last two have been interesting, motivating and just plain fun putting faces to names, getting to know each other, and sharing ideas. I've heard rumors about the 3rd one being the charm!
As we heard last time, Eagle of Freedom will not be able to continue as group organizer because of his upcoming relocation to San Francisco. We wish him all the best. We certainly appreciate all he's done to get us off the ground. I intend to continue to tap him for help and advice for as long as possible.
Since I'm the new organizer I'm going to try my best not to let any energy dissipate. With that in mind I'd like to share some thoughts prior to our next get together.
I view the main purpose of our meet ups as being social but I'd like it to be just a little more.
As residents of the Seattle area we're fortunate to be surrounded by a strong majority of progressive thinkers. You can feel it. It is just a comfortable place to live as a progressive.
We are all Kossacks for a reason. I'm personally extremely grateful to have found this community and I want to help it grow.
Also, we are all, in our own unique ways, trying to make our country, state, county, city or town a better place to live. Daily KOS gives each of us a powerful forum with which to share our thoughts and promote our progressive efforts.
I have a vision of our group becoming the hub of a wheel with spokes emanating from that hub. A place where people can share their reasons for being part of Daily KOS. A place where people can inform others of their activist efforts so like-minded individuals can connect. A place where we can invite others to join our community. A place to make new members feel welcome and connected. And in the not too distant future I'd also like to see our meet ups becoming a guest speaker forum giving us the opportunity to hear from our local leaders and us a chance to share our ideas with them.
I'd like to spend some time kicking these thoughts around with everybody.
A couple more housekeeping items.
1. I'm looking for a volunteer to provide back up to me as coordinator since I'm now front and center in the coordinator role.
2. If you haven't already done so please send me your real first name and an e-mail contact address to johncrapper51@gmail.com . I'm working on improving communication! We have a google group setup for the purpose of making it easier for us to send messages to each other.
Thanks everybody and see you on Sat. 5/24! Said it up top but worth saying again. Please RSVP in comments.
