House Republicans are such nice people, don't you think?
House Republicans are all class:
"Please be advised that due to House Republicans kicking House Democrats out of a room that was scheduled for today’s Steering and Policy hearing on the GOP’s failure to extend UI, we’re now holding a press conference in lieu of the hearing that will take place on the House East Front Steps," House Democratic leadership said in a press release.
House Democrats are being forced, in the first place, to have such a hearing held by a party committee rather than a legislative committee thanks to Republicans not caring enough about the jobless people they're denying benefits to even want to talk about the issue.
Emergency unemployment insurance was cut off in late December, 2013, and though the Senate passed a bipartisan bill extending the aid, the House has not followed suit, leaving millions of Americans who've been unemployed for six months or more without the help they need to pay bills, feed their families, and, for that matter, put gas in the car to go to job interviews.
