Sometimes, it is difficult to get together to meet and make things come together.   On May 17, in Topeka Kansas several organizations have done EVERYTHING possible to make it easy for you as a Kansan to get together and support our goals for the state.

Moving Kansas Forward, a large group which includes many (people like us included), KNEA, AFT, The Davis Campaign.. we are gathering at the site of Brown Vs. Board of Education for a rally for progress.  Progress for teachers and education, progress for Kansas, and a reminder of how far we've come and how far we have to go.

Have difficulty getting to Topeka?   We've got it covered.   BUSSES are available that will transport people from: Salina, Hays,  Pittsburg, Derby, Wichita, Kansas City.. with car pools from Lawrence, Manhattan and elsewhere. If you are in Kansas, we'll do anything possible to have you gather in Topeka to celebrate this important Milestone.

For a more informal gathering, we're having a lunch at Rudy's Pizza in Lawrence, May 10 (Next Saturday) and we invite every Kossack who wants to attend to attend.   This is an informal lunch & talk where we can just sit and shoot the breeze and discuss some of the issues that drive this summer.

We will have members of several campaigns there, but it's not formal, so very much just an old fashioned 'Chat & Chew'.   Feel free to discuss anything over a slice... we will be talking about opportunities to help grow the voter base this summer and how you can hands on get involved.

It will also be the first time we discuss the Kansas (and then Missouri) Documentary process, which begins May 17.   More details on that once I'm really free to discuss it.

Thank you!  Please PM if you intend to be at either gathering..  to the event in Topeka, Friends, families, kids and neighbors .. anyone concerned about Kansas has every opportunity to be there.   Take a busride to Topeka and get to meet the neighbors & friends who want to work with you to help change the state in 2014.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
