Last Thursday at a conference, Karl Rove repeatedly asserted that Hillary Clinton had suffered a ''traumatic brain injury when she fell and hit her head back in December of 2012. Here is how the NY Post reported it:
Karl Rove stunned a conference when he suggested Hillary Clinton may have brain damage
There is really no evidence to support this assertion on Rove's part.
Hillary's doctors reported that she suffered a concussion which caused a blood clot behind her ear. The blood clot was potentially life-threatening, but it was successfully dissolved with blood thinners.
Rove initially claimed that Hillary was hospitalized for thirty days. NY Presbyterian Hospital records show that she was only hospitalized for three days. I suffered a severe brain injury last September. I can report that, while I had a remarkably quick recovery, I spent seven weeks in the hospital and I am still in rehab. I had to learn how to get out of bed and how to walk again, and use a toilet, etc. I still walk with a cane. And I was very lucky. My recovery is considered extraordinarily successful.
There is no way you can hide a traumatic brain injury. Hell, you are too busy trying to figure out what is happening to you. The first thing they did in the ER is to put me on a ventilator. To facilitate that and all the other tubes they hook you up to, they put you in a medically induced comma for several days. Even when I came off the coma meds, I was pretty psychotic.
They ask you questions every fifteen minutes to see how oriented you are. I was good at memorizing the date and time. I knew who the President was. But I kept screwing up where I was, even though my girlfriend and sister were both coaching me. I couldn't remember the name of the hospital, or what city we were in. I was convinced they were moving me from room to room every night, even though I only moved once during my seven weeks there. I proudly told a psychiatrist, who was evaluating me, about six weeks after I was admitted, that I was making real progress because even though I was still hallucinating, I now realized that the hallucinations were not real.
Pre-publication Update.
This is from Tom Kludt of Talking Points Memo

Karl Rove tried his best on Tuesday to explain his recent suggestion that Hillary Clinton may have suffered a "traumatic brain injury."
Appearing on the friendly confines of Fox News, Rove wanted to make two things clear: He never said the former secretary of state had brain damage, but he really wants people to consider her age and health issues stemming from her hospitalization in late-2012.
"I didn't say she had brain damage. She had a serious health episode and my point was that from, I think it was the 7th of December in 2012 through the 7th of January of 2013, she underwent, first she had apparently a serious virus," he told anchor Bill
&xC5;Hemme
So Karl Rove is caught in his lies and he switches gears from claiming Hillary had a traumatic brain injury, to saying she had a 'serious virus.' But he still claims that her age and health should be considerations in 2016. Based on his wacky behavior these last few days, Karl Rove might want to get a nuero-psychological workup just to make sure all his screws are tight.
